Education
Scott Wilson brings creative innovative ideas and a wealth of
experience to bear in delivering schools, colleges, universities
and research facilities which meet the new challenges in
education. We work closely with our clients to address their
particular needs alongside other professional partners in
development teams. We can offer a total integrated planning
architectural and engineering service or contribute particular
services by our multidisciplinary specialists.
Scott Wilson is playing a major role in the Government’s
Building Schools for the Future programme which aims to raise
educational attainment and promote wider community usage rebuilding
or refurbishing all secondary schools and by constructing new
Academies and primary schools.
We are working with the schools to address the need for:
- Stimulating, welcoming safe environments
- Sustainability
- Flexible usage
- Operationally efficient layouts
- Economy
- Adaptable space and ICT provision
Extensive development of facilities at universities and colleges
of further education is being undertaken to achieve Government
targets for increased access and we are bringing the same creative
approach we have used on schools to the challenges they pose.
We provide multidisciplinary services embracing project management,
architecture, planning and masterplanning, landscape design, and
transport planning, structural, civil and geotechnical engineering
and building services. We also provide independent certified
and due diligence vetting services on PPP/PFI schemes. Our
integrated approach to sustainability in design ensures high BREEAM
assessment scores and our sustainability assessment teams are in
high demand as a stand-alone service. We have a strong
environmental capability in support of our planning teams which
includes ecology and archaeology. Our acoustics teams are at
the forefront of the industry’s approach to achieving high acoustic
standards within constraints imposed by the demands of
sustainability and our pedestrian modellers offer guidance on
improvements to student movements within buildings.
Our clients include procuring organisations, funders, SPVs and
constructors.
